Otega Oweh Picked to NABC All-District Second Team
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball senior guard Otega Oweh was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Central District Second Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. It marks the second-consecutive season that the Wildcat star has received all-district honors from the NABC, after being named a first-team selection a year ago. Oweh leads the Wildcats with 18.2 points per game this season and has scored in double figures in 33 of the team’s 34 contests. WVU rifle team wins 21st NCAA National Championship, sets NCAA championship record

Hall signs to play softball at Thomas More
EASTERN, Ky. – Floyd County Central’s Whitley Hall signed this past week to play softball at the college level for Crestview Hills’ Thomas More Saints. Hall was a double threat by her junior year, batting .358 at the plate with 31 hits and 34 RBIs while tallying 94 strikeouts on the mound, building on that during her standout senior year at the school. Virginia legislature approves retail cannabis sales
RICHMOND, Va. — Recreational marijuana sales are expected to soon be legal just across the state line from Pike County, as the Virginia legislature passed a framework for retail sales on Saturday. Gov. Abigail Spanbarger has previously said she will sign the bill. Once signed, the new law will allow anyone 21 or older to buy cannabis from a licensed establishment, beginning Jan. 1. The number of cannabis businesses will be capped at 350.
