Hicks put together a monster year at the plate, leading the 15th Region with a .509 batting average over 33 games and 109 at-bats. He collected 55 hits, including one home run ball. Child rape case scheduled to go to trial next month

Natalio RamirezPIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man is currently set to go to trial on a child rape charge next month. Natalio Ramirez, 42, of Island Creek Road, was originally indicted in August of 2021, on one count of first-degree rape. He is accused of raping a child younger than 12 from December 2018 to September 2020. The case was dismissed in November 2022, at the request of the child’s mother. Prosecutors were reluctant to dismiss the case, but agreed after the mother promised to keep her children away from Ramirez. But in April 2025, the case was reinstated, after […]

Dickenson BOS reorganizes Tourism Advisory Committee, makes appointments to numerous boards

CLINTWOOD, Va. — The Dickenson County Board of Supervisors took significant action during their meeting on Wednesday, officially establishing a new structure for the county’s Tourism Advisory Committee and approving a range of administrative appointments. In a move aimed at streamlining tourism efforts, the board adopted new bylaws to reorganize the committee.
