CLINTWOOD, Ky. —Two students of Ridgeview Elementary reportedly made “serious threats” against teachers, the school district is reporting. Supt. Haydee Robinson announced the incident over social media Wednesday afternoon. Her full statement follows: “We want to inform you about a serious threat made today by two students toward teachers at Ridgeview Elementary School. Pike couple charged with child abuse due to ‘environmental neglect’

Timothy and Lana MacDonaldELKHORN CITY, Ky. — A Pike County couple has been charged with child abuse after police say their three children were living in a home described as heavily cluttered, unsanitary and in a state of significant disrepair. A Kentucky State Police trooper was called to a home on Regina Belcher Highway Tuesday evening to investigate a report of alleged environmental neglect. Pike Central Fentanyl overdose rumors not true

PIKEVILLE, KY. – Rumors circulating this morning declared that a teacher at Pike Central had suffered from a fentanyl overdose. But a phone call with Principal Timothy Cline confirmed that no such incident occurred.  Cline explained that a teacher went to the nurses’ station “feeling faint.” EMS was called as a precaution.
