This week, the problem of drivers not stopping for school buses that are loading or unloading students has been the topic of many conversations. Bus drivers say it is a daily occurrence for motorists to pass their stopped buses, especially on US 23. Kentucky State Police officials say there is no excuse for drivers not knowing the laws regarding stopped school buses. Shannon Deskins got the details from Sgt. Shaun Little, and shares them in the video below.
The old Roasted building at 787 Hambley Blvd. was part of the Dollar a Year Program provided by the City of Pikeville. The City Commission selected “Sol Good Bakery” to lease this property according to Executive Director of Economic Development in Pikeville Jill Fraley Dotson. She also stated that owners Jessica and Michael Phillips plans on building their focus around the community and providing an assortment of baked goods and coffee. Dotson also says that the owners are shooting for an opening date during the week of Thanksgiving.
